Evidence-Based Inquiry: Bridging Theory and Applied Organizational Behavior
My research agenda is driven by a commitment to mixed methods inquiry that generates actionable knowledge. I investigate how organizations use strategic communications to manage complexity, and how insights from systems theory can illuminate dynamics of organizational culture and leadership. My practical experience informs a robust methodology, focusing on rigorous analysis to produce evidence that shapes both academic discourse and professional practice.
CORE RESEARCH FOCUS
My doctoral work explored the effects of organizational culture on millennial engagement and turnover in start-ups. This continues through published work investigating burnout among female public relations practitioners and presentations on culture, onboarding, and employee well-being.
CORE RESEARCH FOCUS
I conduct applied research on educational pathways and equity. This includes serving on a research team at the University of Michigan studying community college students, upskilling, and stackable credentials, as well as non-published research for the Southeast Michigan Community Alliance on youth workforce development and brand perception.
CORE RESEARCH FOCUS
My research agenda is driven by a commitment to mixed methods inquiry that generates actionable knowledge. This work is unified by the CultureComms Model, a conceptual framework I developed to investigate the dynamic interplay between strategic communications and organizational culture. Insights from systems theory are used to illuminate how these elements impact employee engagement, ethical decision-making, and organizational resilience. My practical experience informs a robust methodology, focusing on rigorous analysis to produce evidence that shapes both academic discourse and professional practice.

“Although she was at a teaching institution, scholarship is important to Amanda as well, and she was engaged in research during her time at Cleary.
She is an engaging and passionate teacher who cares deeply about her students, but does not hesitate to challenge them and hold them accountable. Amanda worked tirelessly on their behalf, forging connections with industry experts and employers."
